Although, Taiwan has not membership status in International Organizations, Taiwan involved in many international issues. Taiwan had a role in many international problem solving engagements, which were North Korean cargo ship incident, CWC and Taiwan, Cambodia refugees in Thailand, Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Racial Discrimination (CERD), NPT/IAEA/Taiwan, ARF/CSCAP, South China Sea Disputes, and Nonproliferation.
The class emphasizes International Law and IR Theories as a foundation of international integration and cooperation. There are overlapping between one China in international organizations. What one China states for ROC of PRC in international engagement. There are multilateralism agencies that Taiwan has involved with: e.g. World Health Assembly (WHA), International Energy Agency (IEA), World Trade Organization, Chemical Weapons Convention, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (AEC), Asian Development bank (ADB), International Olympic Committee and many international sport associations.
Taiwan represents itself in many names as: e.g. the Department of Health of ROC, Taipower, Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kimmen and Matsu, and Chinese Taipei. Taiwan also has diplomatic relationship with many countries. In addition, Taiwan ratified in international treaties.
