WU, Chien-Huei Appointed as Deputy Permanent Representative of the Permanent Mission of the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu to the World Trade Organization

On the 21st of the month, the Presidential Office issued a presidential decree formally appointing WU, Chien-Huei, an adjunct professor at the International College of Innovation (ICI), as Deputy Permanent Representative of the Permanent Mission of the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu to the World Trade Organization. Since joining ICI, Professor WU has been renowned for his exceptional expertise in international law and EU External Relations Law, earning deep respect and admiration from students.

Dean Wen-Ling TU of the International College of Innovation stated, “Professor Wu possesses extensive experience in the European Union and is rigorous in his academic pursuits. Not only did he establish the International Public Law course during the early days of ICI, but he has also actively participated in the college’s Flash Courses, offering professional insights and dialogues on international law concerning major global issues such as the Russia-Ukraine war.” Dean Tu believes that this appointment will not only allow Professor Wu to fully utilize his talents but also enable the country to leverage his expertise, further expanding its international influence.

The International College of Innovation (ICI) has long been committed to nurturing interdisciplinary talents and prides itself on recruiting outstanding faculty members to advance the institution. Professor WU’s appointment not only recognizes his academic achievements but also underscores ICI’s ongoing efforts and achievements in talent cultivation.

Additionally, other faculty members of the ICI actively participate in various significant government committees. Dean Wen-Ling TU was invited to join the Whole-of-Society Defense Resilience Committee, Professor Hsien-Ming LIEN contributes to the Economic Development Committee, and Assistant Professors Chung-Pei PIEN and Chia-Wei CHAO participate actively in the Carbon Fee Rate Review Committee. These involvements highlight the passionate dedication and contributions of ICI faculty to national issues of importance.
