On April 30, the International College of Innovation (ICI) at National Chengchi University hosted the Let’s Getaway: Best Travel Moments Award Party! in the third-floor lobby of the General Building of International Education. This event aimed to recognize students’ creative achievements in storytelling through video and to foster meaningful cultural exchange between local and international students, highlighting the diverse perspectives and exploratory spirit of ICI students.

The ceremony opened with welcoming remarks from ICI Dean Wen-Ling Tu. In her address, Dean Tu emphasized that Let’s Getaway is more than just a video competition—it is an opportunity for students to express themselves and engage in cross-cultural dialogue. She noted that this year’s event attracted participants from a wide range of countries, including Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, and Paraguay. From Xinbeitou’s hot springs to the historic streets of Tamsui, students captured the beauty of Taiwan while offering their own creative interpretations of travel and cultural experience.

Also joining the event was ICI faculty member Associate Professor Kevin Chang, who shared insights from his life across 12 different countries. He spoke about his experiences working with diverse communities to promote peace, justice, and human rights, inspiring both students and faculty alike.

The event featured a variety of engaging activities, including a three-minute highlight video, two-minute presentations by each participating team, and an interactive quiz game to encourage audience participation. The event concluded with the announcement of the top three winning teams. Members of the first-place team, Group 5, expressed their surprise and gratitude upon receiving the award.

ICI expressed hopes that this event will continue to spark student enthusiasm for participating in international initiatives, broaden their global outlook, and further strengthen the college’s impact in cross-cultural education and global competence development.
