GCIT's Summer Course is back! This year, we are delighted to welcome Prof. Edson C. Tandoc Jr. from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, to teach "AI, Media, and Information Integrity".
Prof. Tandoc is the Wee Kim Wee Endowed Professor in Communication Studies and Director of the Centre for Information Integrity and the Internet (IN-cube) at NTU. He is a leading scholar in digital journalism and media studies, with extensive research on news production, audience behavior, and the societal impact of emerging technologies.
This 3-credit course explores how AI is reshaping media and communication in contemporary society. Through discussions of misinformation, deepfakes, trust, ethics, and democracy, students will critically examine the opportunities and challenges that AI presents for today's information environment.
