Dear International Students,

The application period for the Fall 2026 Mandarin Credit-Track Courses is now open.

To support international students in developing Mandarin proficiency for academic success, daily communication, and future career development in Taiwan, the Chinese Language Center (CLC) at National Chengchi University offers a variety of Mandarin courses designed for students with different language backgrounds and learning goals.

Learning Mandarin is more than acquiring a new language. It is an opportunity to better engage with Taiwanese culture, participate in campus life, build connections with the local community, and enhance your competitiveness for future internships and career opportunities in Taiwan.

Whether you are a beginner taking your first steps in Mandarin or an advanced learner seeking to strengthen your academic and professional communication skills, there is a course suitable for you.

Course Categories:

 

  1. Standard Mandarin Enhancement Series (Pre-A1–B2)
    * Designed for students from beginner to upper-intermediate levels
    * Structured progression through different proficiency levels
    * 2 sessions per week (4 hours/week)
    * 4 credits
    * Application through the CLC Credit-Track Course Online Application
     
  2. Basic & Elementary Mandarin Courses (Conversation / Integrated Skills) (A1–A2)
    * Designed for beginner and elementary-level learners
    * Focus on practical communication and fundamental Mandarin skills
    * 1 session per week (3 hours/week)
    * 3 credits
    * Application through the CLC Credit-Track Course Online Application
     
  3. Intensive Mandarin Course (Exchange Students Only)
    * Comprehensive training in listening, speaking, reading, and writing
    * Monday–Thursday, 13:00–16:00
    * 12 credits in total
    * Enrollment coordinated by the Office of International Cooperation (OIC)
     
  4. Applied and Thematic Mandarin Courses
    * Includes courses such as Academic Mandarin, Business Mandarin, and News Mandarin
    * Suitable for students with intermediate-level Mandarin proficiency (CEFR B1 or above)
    * 1 session per week (3 hours)
    * 3 credits
    * Direct enrollment through the NCCU Course Selection System


Application Information


Placement Assessment
Students applying for the Standard Mandarin Enhancement Series and Basic & Elementary Mandarin Courses are required to complete the placement process.

August 7, 2026 (Fri.) 14:00 – August 12, 2026 (Wed.) 15:00 (GMT+8)

Online Oral Interview
August 24, 2026 (Mon.) – August 26, 2026 (Wed.)

 

Please note:

* Beginners are not required to take the placement assessment.

* Students who fail to complete the required application or placement procedures will not be eligible for course enrollment.
